Historical notes

A Malvasia

Vine variety and very old wine present in Friuli and especially around Carso from the 200. It seems to have Greek origins in the land of Morea near the city of Monenmbasia (from which the same name of all Malvasia seems to be born) and then from the island of Crete. It is assumed that was introduced into the area from the flourishing commercial traffic, ruled by Venice with the East. Istrian Malvasia has such original characteristics that it can be distinguished clearly from all other Malvasia and, due to its long presence on the Friuli territory, it can certainly be considered in the light of the long time spent a typical native wine.

Native stories

Stories of wines and lobsters

During a stop in Alghero in an old restaurant in the historical centre instead of the usual local vines you can decide to go against the current and make yourself a gift by combining a fantastic Catalan lobster, to eat voluptuously with your fingers, to an Istrian Malvasia. Better alone to fully enjoy the exquisite taste of the combination.

The Territory

In the Karst area

All of Friuli, especially in the Karst. It can be found similar in Slovenia. Wine produced not in large quantities but always of high quality.
