Historical notes

An elegant Friulan wine

It is a wine with very ancient, probably of Greek Ionic and Slovenian origins (it is still today, with different denominations and some differences, present in Slovenia and on the Ionian island of Kefalonia). The presence of the vine in Friuli and in the area of the Istria has been ascertained since the second century. Given this certain longevity, it is one of the most important Friulan wines based on a consolidated autochthony. The last century has shown a clear evolution starting from simple wines and sometimes very matured and little filtered up to the current totally different Ribolla for cultivation and winemaking that is an elegant native wine of considerable finesse.

Native stories

Sweet sailing...

It's common to drink in the city, perhaps with too much haste, while this activity gives the best in other contexts. For example, in a boat moored in Porto Venere after a sail in late October, with the heat on the cheeks accentuated by the cooling off after sunset. Combined with a simple plate of spaghetti with seafood, prepared in the kitchen on board, followed by a plate of cheeses chosen in the old grocery of Carugio along with good grilled bread, before a homemade rum of Guadeloupe and a local Tuscan cigar to enjoy in silence with the gentle rocking of the port and the breath of the sea.

The Territory

From Istria to Friuli

All Friuli Venezia Giulia, some areas of Slovenia and, according to its ancient origins, a similar type in the island of Kefalonia.
