A wine of uncertain origins

The Trebbiano Spoletino has ancient but not clear origins, such that the territory of Umbro of Spoleto seems to be the land that has adopted the vine variety more than the true place of origin. For some experts, the name derives from the city of Trevi, in the territory of Spoleto, but it is one of the various hypotheses, of which the Trebbiani world is rich. Its history has no certain documents but is based on historical word of mouth. The first time the Trebbiano Spoletino was defined and described was in 1878, in the Ampelographic Bulletins signed by Francolini. Today it is a wine that is emerging from the local dimension to become the object of targeted research both for its subtlety, for its elegance and for the evident acidity that has the characteristic of disappearing very slowly

It is present in Umbria, especially in the province of Perugia and in the territory of Spoleto and Trevi, Montefalco, Castel Ritardi, Giano, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo. It is very marginally present in some regions bordering Umbria.
