Historical notes

A combined marriage

It was born in recent times and in 1976 was created the homonymous DOC that refers to the municipality in the province of Lecce. The DOC includes the Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Pinot Bianco and Aleatico vine varieties. For all these wines (except for Pinot Bianco) there is a Red, Rosé, White, Sweet and Sweet Liqueur version. Black Malvasia of Lecce has some characteristics of Negroamaro but with a more transparent ruby red color, less powerful tannins and a reduced degree of acidity that decreases the roughness of Negroamaro, which gives it alcohol, sapidity, body, transparency, less power tannins and degree of acidity making a wine of great elegance, softness and fantastic to drink even without a prolonged aging over time. Because of these characteristics, it is becoming increasingly sought after in the local, national and international markets.

Native stories

The Italian Gazpacho

You meet some Spanish customers from Seville in Milan. Remembering your last visit where you enjoyed a magnificent gazpacho, they claim that in Italy there is nothing like it. This is a challenge and you accept it without too much difficulty and, thanks to the chef from Puglia, prepare a Salice Salentino Soup. You serve it all quite cold combined with a Salice Salentino Reserve. Your customers are astonished: it looks like a gazpacho, but it is an explosion of all-Italian flavors.
